Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Andrew (A.J.) Sharrah, of Clarkdale, passed away quietly on April 19 after a very honorable and hard fought battle. His family was so proud of him and the manner in which he walked through life. He was a quiet and unassuming gentle man and will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him. He served his country as a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Navy on the USS Gage during World War II. He had been a long-time member of the Jerome Elks and the VFW in Cottonwood. He is survived by his wife, Betty Sharrah; his daughter, Lynda Martin; and his son, Leon Sharrah. He also left behind his loving sister, Evelyn Brohammer and his brother, Delbert Sharrah.
