Jackson B. Rowland, 88, of Clarkdale, died Feb. 25, 2009. He was born May 29, 1920, in Warwick, Ga., the son of Bertie and Ellen Rowland.

He was employed at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., for 25 years. After his retirement, he and his wife went full-time RVing throughout all 48 states, spending winters in Yuma. They moved to Clarkdale in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Rowland; four children: Jeffrey Rowland, Janelle Kelley, Jennifer Rowland, and Jilinda Rowland, three grandchildren: Sylvia Rowland, Heather Hill, and Christopher Rowland, two sisters: Mamie Odom and Betty Coleman, both of Cordele, Ga.

A celebration of his life will be held in Georgia with family.
