Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Juana "Jennie" E. Mendoza passed away in Cottonwood on April 18. She was 92 years old. She was born in Clarkdale on March 29, 1917, to Dolores and Amaparo Anguilo Eredia. She was the last survivor of that first generation family. She loved to cook and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and her many friends. She was a friend to all and a lifetime member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Henry E. Rivero. She is survived her daughter, Armida (Joe) Zepeda of Cottonwood; her grandchildren, Ricardo Zepeda of Prescott, Jeannette (Scott) Della Donna of Phoenix, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Jennie worked as a nurse's aide at Marcus J. Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 23 years. She also worked at Torrance Memorial and Gardenia General Hospitals, both in California. She also worked for Corona Gables Convalescent Hospital as a CNA all those years. The Rosary will be recited on Saturday, April 25 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass in Latin will be celebrated immediately afterwards.
