Virginia D. (Brown) Blackford

Virginia D. Blackford, 93, of Cottonwood died April 11. She was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Trilla, Ill., the daughter of Tony Gordon Brown and Myrtle Inez Reed Brown.

Mrs. Blackford served her country during World War II with the Army Air Corps. She went on to work for RCA in computers.

Mrs. Blackford attended Clarkdale Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Geneva Brown Yinling and Ovida Brown Schisler.

Mrs. Blackford leaves a nephew, Tony Louis Schisler.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m., at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
