Shirley Billings, 72, died Saturday, March 22, 2015, in Plano, Texas.

She was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Lakeside to Robert and Evelyn (McNeil) Heydt.

Shirley married Kenneth Ray Billings Nov. 24, 1962, in Las Vegas, Nev. She enjoyed her family, was most excellent with arts and crafts, and could be found with her nose in a good book. Her love of dogs and horses was very evident all her life, especially for “Little Bit” and “Mickie.”

Shirley worked many diligent hours creating a beautiful yard at their home in Messer. She also enjoyed decorating the vacation home in Show Low.

Shirley’s greatest love was driving around listening to ‘50s and ‘60s oldies with her best friend, her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Ray, who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Heydt, and sister Kitty Coleman.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray; two daughters, Roxanne (Scott) Gillean of Broken Bow, Neb., and Tina Foster of Hugo, Okla.; son Kenny (Michele) Billings of Benbrook, Texas; mother Evelyn McNeil of Abilene, Kan.; brother Bobby Heydt of Chandler; sister Janet Allen of Abilene, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Brittney Brost, Nike Danner, Chance Danner, Jaime Gillean, Tanner Foster, Alex Foster, Skyler Foster, Trace Billings, Joslyn Bollings and Kaley Billings; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Brost, Jonha Brost, Henry Brost, Carly Danner, Brady Danner, KaseVigus and Kade Vigus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home with Pastor Jarrod Wright officiating and burial following in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla.
