Dolores Strand Burwell

Dolores (Dee) Burwell was born in Chicago, Illinois and passed away at her home in Prescott, Arizona on March 24, 2015.

Having graduated from Marquette University with a BS degree in Medical Technology in 1957, Dee married her partner in life, Bruce Burwell, two years later on March 14, 1959. The couple raised four children, Beverly, Bruce, Bonnie and Christopher prior to Dee's retirement in 1994.

Known as an active member of the Prescott community, Dee poured her energy and resources into blessing her friends and neighbors through several organizations. Whether she was packing food for the Community Cupboard, serving as a driver for People Who Care, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, or faithfully ushering at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Dee did it all with a sense of humor and a joyful spirit.

An avid crossword fan, adventurous world traveler, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dee's legacy will continue to be a testament to all who knew her.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday April 11, 2015 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherd's Lane, Prescott, Arizona.

Arrangements were entrusted with the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
