Judge A. L. Morrison Dies In Prescott

February 12, 1917, Judge A. L. Morrison of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away at the home of his son, Hon. Robt. E. Morrison, in Prescott. Judge Morrison was born in Ireland, October, 1831, and came to this country at an early age, where he played an important role in its making. He was a veteran of the Mexican war, participating in the taking of the City of Mexico, beside taking part in other battles. Later he returned to Ireland to take part in the rebellion in '48, but was thrown into jail by the British authorities. When liberated six months later he returned to the United States and again began to play the part of an active and loyal citizen, in which capacity he acted until his death, holding at various times Federal offices. He was a historian of note and a lawyer of high reputation. The body was carried to Santa Fe, where it was interred in the family burying ground.
