Noni F. Anderson passed away April 4, 2015, at Wesley Woods Health Care Center in Hewitt, Texas, at the age of 91. She was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Sydney, Australia, to O'Lynda Dowling Green. She grew up and was schooled in Sydney.

On Nov. 22, 1943, she met Paul Anderson, who was on leave from the Air Corps/Fifth Air Force, serving in the Southwest Pacific theatre with the Jolly Roger B-24 Heavy Bomb Group on New Guinea, Biak Island, the Philippines and Ie Shima. They were married April 8, 1944, in Sydney.

While her husband returned to the war, she went to work at DeHavilland Aircraft in Sydney. DeHavilland produced the British Mosquito Bomber. The airplane was made of wood, and proved effective against the Nazis. In June of 1945, she was granted permission by the U.S. government to join 500 other American war brides to sail to America.

On arriving in the states, she lived with her husband Paul's sisters in Denver, Colorado. After his discharge from the military, the couple moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska, where they raised three children. In 1986, Paul retired from Masek Auto Supply, and they moved to Prescott, Arizona.

In Prescott, the Andersons lived in Yavapai Hills, were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and enjoyed new friends and surroundings. With assistance from Chuck Hagel, then Senator from Nebraska, Noni became a naturalized citizen in 2001.

Noni suffered a stroke in 2007, and a few months later, the Andersons moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, to be near their son and family, where they resided in Trinity Towers and Holmgreen Care Center. Following her husband's death in 2010, she moved with her son Mark and family to Waco, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; one great-grandchild; and is survived by three children, Mark (Kathy) of Waco, Texas, Paulette Prohs (Bill) of Estes Park, Colorado and Lynda Phillips (Denny) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She leaves five grandchildren, Kristen Gammel of Robinson, Texas, Matthew Anderson (Kadie) of Spring, Texas, Erick Prohs (Jeanice) of Estes Park, Colorado, Stephanie Bartolero (Jason) of Woodstock, Georgia and Jenny Coleman McKee of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Noni is survived by 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Wesley Woods Health Care Center, Southern Care Hospice, and Stoney Brook Assisted Living, for the many months of loving and attentive care she received.

A funeral Mass was at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Student Center, 1415 S. 9th St., Waco, Texas.
