Chico Gonzales, 73, of Cottonwood died March 25. He was born October 29, 1935 in Phoenix, the son of Manuel and Eva Gonzales.

Chico owned Smelter City Iron Works since 1979. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and a past Governor of the Moose Lodge and was active in community service.

He enjoyed fishing, traveling and loved Laughlin. Chico will be remembered as a very generous loving man, enjoyed life and loved the Verde Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Gonzales is survived by his wife of 23 years, Livi; sons, Daniel (Hillary) Gonzales, David (Dahlia) Gonzles Robert (Michael) Gonzales and A. J. (Jennifer) Lukus; daughters, Angie Gonzales and Tami (Bill) Burress; two brothers, three sisters, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Sunday, March 29 at Westcott Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m., with the recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, March 30 at the American Legion Post #25 at 2 p.m.
