Joseph F. Diaz

Joe Felix Diaz was born on August 14, 1950 in Globe, Arizona. He was the middle sibling of 3 children and son to Mary Apodaca. When Joe was old enough to work he got a job at a service station so that he could help support his mother and 2 sisters (Linda and Terri). His jobs got bigger and better as he worked construction at the mines. He was an independent man who was free spirited and very humble. While he never married or had children he was devoted to caring for his ailing mother until her very last days.

Throughout his life he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was enjoying a good football game either at home or at the bar with his friends. As many of you probably know Joe was a loyal 49ers fan, win or lose that was his team and he never gave up on them. Some of Joe’s alias names included “Joe Joe”, “Tito Jones”, and “Uncle Joe”, which he answered to proudly.

While Joe was no saint he was also a very emotional and considerate person. He cared about people and would always give help to those who needed it. Joe was blessed to have so many friends who cared for him.

Joe’s hobbies included watching football, playing cards and horseshoes, throwing darts, gardening, hunting and fishing. As he got older, his greatest joy in life was being around his amazing nephew Cody, who he thought the world of, and his beautiful niece Taylor, also referred to as “The Boss’. Although he loved them equally, his pride and joy was The Boss. From the first moment he laid eyes on her she had his heart.

Throughout the years Joe was able to see Taylor grow into a smart and beautiful girl as she continued to be a big part of his daily life until the end.

When Joe was diagnosed with Cancer in 2010 it was very devastating to him and his family, but he never gave up hope. To Joe, everyday was a good day and he lived life to the fullest. He never complained about the pain he was in and was always more concerned about the health and well-being of everybody else.

Joe leaves behind his sister Terri Wilson, Brotherinlaw Gary Wilson, two nieces Patty and Shawn, a nephew Michael, a great niece and nephew Taylor and Cody, his aunt Martha, cousins and his best friend Willie.

We were very blessed to have you in our lives and you will be missed more than you will ever know.
