William Caan, 92, died March 22, 2015, at his residence in Saguaro Ranch Assisted Living in Oro Valley. He was born May 6, 1922, in Milwaukee, Wis.

He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School and then served honorably in the Army from 1942-46. Bill married Helen J. Wetzel in September 1948. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Helen and Bill moved west to California, then Arizona where they lived in Scottsdale for the next 60-plus years. Bill worked for Garrett AiResearch Mfg. Co. for 35-plus years where he developed several patents.

He lived a full life and was a devoted husband and father. Bill became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1964 and brought many blessings to his family by living the gospel. He enjoyed many hobbies: dancing, photography, archery, fly fishing, building and racing cars and belonged to the Sports Car Club of America. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and hit five “holes in one.”

Bill and Helen enjoyed retirement at Palmas del Sol in Mesa in the winter and Pinetop in the summer near Pinetop Lakes Golf Club. Bill will be missed by many.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Lori Kelsey (Steven) and Tana Morgan (Dale); nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family memorials are being held in Fayetteville, Ark., and Boise, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to Lori Kelsey at lorijkelsey@yahoo.com or Tana Morgan at tanamorg@icloud.com.
