Betty J. Larson Born in Halstead, Kansas on May 8, 1922. Departed on April 8, 2002 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Betty Jane Larson, 79, of Cottonwood, Ariz.,formerly of Williams, Ariz., died April 8. She was born May 8, 1922 in Halstead, Kansas. She was a retired medical secretary who worked for many years for Dr. John Calley and at Smith's Corner Drugstore in Williams. She had lived in Williams for over 50 years. Mrs. Larson was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as chairwoman of the March of Dimes. She also had the honor of serving as First Lady of Williams for 16 years while her husband Ray Larson served as Mayor. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Larson of Carnation, Washington and Paul R. Larson of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two great-grandchildren are soon expected. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 15 in the United Methodist Church of Williams, Arizona, at 11 a.m. Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood assisted the family with these arrangements.
