Georgianne Queen Bigelow died on May 4, 2015, in Surprise of causes incident to age. She was born in Boston, Mass., Feb. 4, 1933, to George Queen and Elsie Hartman Queen.

During her youth she lived in New Jersey and in Fort Wayne, Ind. Georgianne was an excellent student and had an interest in music from a young age. She was strikingly beautiful. She married her sweetheart John (Jack) Bigelow on Sept. 13, 1953. Their loving union was blessed with four children. Georgianne was a devoted wife and mother who loved to cook, sew, sing and play piano. She made most of her children’s clothes. She was thrifty and loved a good coupon or a great bargain.

Georgianne made friends easily wherever she went, but her priority was her family. Georgianne and Jack lived in New Jersey, California, Washington, Idaho and retired to Wickenburg in 2012. She worked as a salesperson for Singer Sewing Machines and managed a children’s dress store. She was also a postmistress in Green Village, N.J.

In her later years, she and Jack loved doing charity work and spending time with children and grandchildren. She was a faithful, life-long member of the Catholic Church. She frequently bragged about her wonderful family and was very proud of the accomplishments of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She often exclaimed, “What a family we have!”

She is survived by her husband of 61 years John Bigelow of Wickenburg; children Sally (Jay) Hildebrandt of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Donna (Jeff) Senior of Alamo, Calif., David (Sandy) Bigelow of Skull Valley and Anne (Art) Lewis of Skull Valley; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brother Jack (Margaret) Queen of Washington; sister-in-law Joan Angliss of Hemet, Calif.; and a niece and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, John Senior.

The family wishes to express gratitude to many people who helped during Georgianne’s illness over the past year, the owners and staff of My Father’s Retirement Ranch, the staff of Hospice of the Valley, neighbors and friends.

A private memorial service will be held in Arizona in July at a family reunion. Masses will be offered at Christ the King Catholic Church in Idaho Falls and at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg.
