Joseph E. Flammia (Joe Flop) passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015 at age 92.

Joe lived a very full life and will always be remembered for his positive attitude, kind words and helpfulness.

He was blessed with a strong mind and constitution and was able to communicate and enjoy the outdoors until his final days fighting Parkinson's disease. Joe served in WWII as a ball turret gunner with the 303rd "Hells Angels" Bombing Squadron and flew 33 missions.

He came home to raise a family in Red Bank New Jersey until the call to "move west" brought him to California.

After his children were grown, he retired to Cottonwood Arizona and opened Old Town Glass. He was an active member of the VFW and enjoyed all the local holiday events held in the Verde Valley.

His final years were spent in the care of his daughter JoAnn and the wonderful angels at the Yountville Veterans facility in California.

Joe was the last of his siblings to pass away.

He will be greatly missed by his loving family: Fran Rossetti of Clarkdale, Arizona; JoAnn Dusky (Gary) of Rocklin, California; Marilyn Fye (Keith) of North Pole, Alaska and grandchildren Rayne Jasmine Tafoya (Christopher) and Christian Spaeth (Metta) and great grandchildren Ezra, Escher and Nova Tafoya; as well as many other friends and family members who looked to him as their patriarchal father and grandfather.
