Marvin H. Martin Born in Whittier, California on July 13, 1929. Departed on Jan. 14, 2008 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Marvin H. Martin, 78, of Cottonwood died January 14. He was born July 13, 1929 in Whittier, California, the son of Ambrose Reuben Martin and Vera Gladyse (Blossom) Martin. He was a graduate of Whittier schools and Fullerton Junior College. Mr. Martin worked for Mobil Oil Company. He was a gospel quartet singer with the Calvarymen and a member of the Verde Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Doris; two sons, David Martin, wife, Debbie, Chino Hills, Calif. and Dwight Martin, wife Renee, Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Sandy Lee, husband, Craig, Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Maddox of San Bernardino, Calif.; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at the Westcott Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17 at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Verde Baptist Church, Friday January 18 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.
