Jaren Lambert Tolman
July 30, 1919 ~ June 28, 2015

Jaren L. Tolman, loving husband, father, grandpa, son, brother and friend, passed away on June 28, 2015, at the age of 95 years old.

Jaren lived a life of service not only to his family and church, but to his community and his country. He served as a Captain in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return home, he began a life-long career as an educator in Logan, Utah.

In 1948 Jaren moved to Mesa, Arizona, where he continued his career as a high school math teacher in Mesa Public Schools for 30 years, and completed his career as the Assistant Principal of Kino Jr. High.

Jaren dedicated himself to serving the Lord and the Church throughout his life. He served as a Bishop of the Mesa 27th Ward before he served as Temple Recorder in 1991. The Tolmans were blessed to serve a mission in the state of Mississippi as well as in Superior, Arizona.

Jaren is survived by his wife of 70 years, Norma Tolman, his children and their spouses, Robert and Marlene Tolman, Bonnie Kottraba, Janet and Ivan Johnson, and Reed and Debbie Tolman, his 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sat., July 4, 2015 at the Santan Stake Center, 4170 S. Ranch House Pkwy, Gilbert, AZ 85298, with a viewing from 8:30-9:45 AM and funeral at 10 AM. Arrangements by Bunker’s Garden Chapel.
