Departed on Jan. 25, 2006 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Agnes F. Martin, 82, resident of Cottonwood, Arizona, with great sadness, her family announces her passing on Wednesday, January 25, 2006.

Agnes was born at home in Jamaica, New York on December 17, 1923 to parents, Frank and Surrue Vanderhoef. She was the youngest of five children.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Herman Martin of Cottonwood, Ariz.; her son, Glenn Martin, wife, Pamela, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Michelle Edwards, husband, Matt of Toledo, Oh., and Eric Martin, wife, Amber, of Cottonwood, Ariz.; her loving sister-in-laws, Helen Martin, of Jamaica, N.Y., Lucy Vanderhoef, of Manorville, N.Y., and Florence Vanderhoef of Moulton Boro, N.H.; her brother-in-law, Robert Martin of Islip, N.Y.; as well as, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brothers; Lester Vanderhoef, Bill Vanderhoef, and Will Vanderhoef, as well as Will's wife, Lois; Surrue and John Gerkin, her sister and brother-in-law, also precede her.

She had a great love for cooking, watching the Arizona Diamond Backs and raising cats.

Both the visitation at 9:00 am and funeral service at 10:00 am will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave. in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Her family requests that any donations be made to Arizona Hospice.
