Arthur Martinez Born in Flagstaff, Arizona on Sept. 21, 1933. Departed on Aug. 11, 2004 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona. Arthur Wilfred Martinez, 70, of Cottonwood died August 11 at his residence. Arthur was born September 21, 1933 in Flagstaff, Ariz. He was a Korean War veteran who served in both the Army and the Navy. Arthur had worked for the U.S. Postal service before working in the grocery business which he did for 40 plus years. He started working for A.J. Bayless in the Flagstaff area before moving to Avondale where he spent 27 years in the grocery business with Fry's Foods before retiring. His greatest joy was going camping all over the state with his kids and grandkids. He is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Shirley and son Bryan. Arthur leaves a son, Michael; two daughters, Tamara and Kathy; three brothers, Mack, Bob and Delano; three sisters, Lorraine, Loretta and Margie and ten grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 18 in Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. Westcott Funeral Home is directing these arrangements.
