Born in Cascabel, Arizona on Feb. 2, 1928
Departed on Sept. 7, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Wilma J. Martin, 78, of Cottonwood died September 6, 2005. She was born in Cascabel, Arizona to Wiley and Mabel Jane (Hays) Shirley.

She worked for Adams Market, Verde Valley Lumber Yard, Griffith Enterprises and owned and operated several businesses with her husband.

She was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was always involved in her children and grandchildrsn's activities and her community. She loved to bake and many of her friends and neighbors were recipients of her baked goods.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wellington and Forest Shirley and sister, Betty Day.

She is survived by her lving husband of 59 years, Ben Martin; children, Sherrilee (Pete) Jepsen, Rev. Steve (Loralie) Martin, Karla (Kenneth) Schwartz; sister Margaret Wilson; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren,.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Clarkdale Baptist Church, 1051 Highway 89A, Clarkdale, Arizona.

A memorial fund is being established for flowers.
