| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 Virginia Katherine Fox Sturgis Virginia Katherine Fox was born Dec. 23, 1924 in Rochester, West Virginia. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as "Jimmy". She was married to Eugene Edwin Sturgis in 1942. While Gene served in the Army for the next four years, Jimmy lived and worked in San Francisco, California. She was a regular volunteer at the USO there. In 1968, Gene's job transferred them to Phoenix, Arizona, where they lived until retirement. She was very active in church functions and enjoyed getting together weekly with her bridge buddies. Jimmy loved family gatherings and spoiling her grandchildren. She was sweet and kind, and a wonderful listener when you needed someone to talk to. After retirement, they moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona and in 2012, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary! Jimmy passed away at her home, July 11, 2015, at the age of 90. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son, Greg; her daughter, Cindy; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Her Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the VA Chapel in Prescott, Arizona. Sunland Memorial Park and Mortuary assisted the family.
