Marion S. Herriott, 87, formerly of Prescott, born Sept. 17, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away April 26, 2007, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa.

Private family services will be at a later date. Memorials have been established for the United Presbyterian Church or the Activities Fund at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa.

Jones-Eden Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Marion S. Herriott, age 87, of Washington, Iowa died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington after failing in health for many years.

Marion was born September 17, 1919, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of George and Mary (Nemeth) Stankow. She graduated from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois and attended Meisen School of Fashion Design for two years. On December 5, 1942, Marion was united in marriage to W. Phil Herriott in Chicago, Illinois. Marion has resided in Washington, Iowa since 1995 at which time she and Phil moved to the United Presbyterian Home.

Marion was an active church member in the various places she and Phil called home. Together, they traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. Marion enjoyed designing and making clothes for herself and her two daughters. She was an amateur artist who was proficient using watercolors and oils. She sketched places she visited and made sterling silver jewelry. She was a docent with the Phoenix Art Museum and a member of PEO Chapter BG while she lived in Prescott, Arizona.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha J. Herriott of Anchorage, Alaska and Helen H. Schroeder and husband John of Bloomfield, Iowa. Marion is also survived by five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband W. Phil Herriott in 2001; her brother, George Stankow Jr. and a brother in infancy.
