Departed on Sept. 2, 2005 and resided in Clarkdale, Arizona.

Earl Thomas Blackwell departed this life on September 2, 2005. He was preceded in death by his loving and devotated wife of 30 years, Joanna Bouldin Blackwell who departed this life on August 22, 2005. They were residents of Clarkdale, Arizona.

Earl was born in Washington D.C. September 21, 1930 to George Gamble and Mary Kate Whitaker Blackwell.

Jo was born in Los Angeles, California December 3, 1930 to Hugh Bouldin and Ada Elizabeth Bauer Bouldin.

Earl served in the United States Air Force and retired as Sergent First Class from the Arizona Army National Guard, 1058th Ordiance Company where he received numerous awards and commendations.

Prior to meeting Earl, Jo owned her own Resturant in Running Springs, Calif. where she developed a great love for cooking.

Earl and Jo enjoyed traveling together to the mountains in the summer and Mexico in the winter. They also enjoyed several cruises and other travels.

Both were avid fishermen (woman). They loved to be out on a lake lulling the day away. Jo also enjoyed sewing.

Earl and Jo had numerous friends not only in Clarkdale and the surrounding area but all over the country whom they have met through their travels.

Earl and Jo had three children. Earl has one daughter, Sharon Lee Blackwell Walters wife of William E. Walters of Lynchburg, Va. Jo has one son Christopher Dean Crawford of Denver, Colo. and one daughter Cathleen Ann Crawford McKinney of Mapleton Or.. They have three grandchildren, Brandy, Jennifer & David all of Virginia. Earl is survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers & sisters.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, her loving step-father Dean Percy Kelly and a grand-daughter, Jasmine Joy Boatwright

A private memorial service will be held for Earl and Jo. In lieu of flowers the family asked that you make a contribution in their memory to the charity/organization of your choice.
