Born in Prescott, Arizona on Feb. 14, 1936.
Departed on Sept. 5, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Carroll Ann Gabrielson, 69, a long time resident of the Verde Valley died after a short illness on September 5, 2005.

Carroll was raised in the Verde Valley. She attended Oak Creek Elementary School in Cornville, and graduated from Cottonwood High School. She then attended Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Phoenix, and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1956. After marriage, she returned to the Verde Valley where she worked at Marcus J. Lawrence Hospital in Cottonwood, as well as serving as a nurse in several doctor's offices.

She was very active in a variety of activities. She served on the Yavapai County Board of Adjustments, the board of the Verde Valley Manor, member and officer in the Rio Verde Roverettes, in addition to many other activities. She taught arts and crafts, life-long hobbies of hers, at several locations throughout the Valley.

Carroll is survived by her husband, Ernest and two children: Mike of Tucson, Ariz. and Janet of Dewey, Ariz. Brian, a grandson, lives in Tucson.

The family has indicated that according to her wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to, may send a contribution to Northern Arizona Hospice, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood 86326 or to the Cottonwood Boys and Girls Club, 817 N. 2nd St., Cottonwood, Arizona, 86326.
