| The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Friday, July 03, 2015 David Allen Sauer, resident of Cottonwood, died on June 29th at age 69. He was born in 1946 in Alton, Illinois, to John and Edna Sauer. David graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla, where he earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and played on the football team. He married his wife Patty in 1969. David worked for DuPont for 32 years as a chemical engineer and management consultant. David and Patty lived many places during his career, including Delaware, Ohio, Texas, Michigan, Brazil, and California. They retired in Cottonwood in 2001. David loved bowling, target shooting, and biking, and was famous to his many friends for his conversational prowess and ready smile. David is survived by his wife, Patty Sauer; children Bryan Sauer and Gretchen Hirsch; granddaughter Claudia Sauer; and sister Linda Sauer Dixon Floyd.
