The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, September 30, 2015 Rita Sobol, 84, died Aug. 26, 2015, in Surprise, with her husband Ed by her side. At her request no service will be held. A memorial will be held at a later date. Sobol was born on May 7, 1931, in Gibsonburg, Ohio, to Clarence and Adeline M. Swander-Felker. She graduated from Gibsonburg High School as valedictorian and continued her education at Davies Business College for Women. Sobol worked for Libby Glass in Toledo, Ohio, and Northwood Board of Education, then worked for 30 years with the Bowling Green Daily Sentinel Tribune as the education editor for Wood Country Schools and Ohio Education. Sobol worked with many boards and committees throughout her career and after. Her interests included family, painting, writing, reading and devoting much of her time and energy to charity work. A member of the Wickenburg Presbyterian Church, Sobol wrote The Witness for a couple of years. Sobol is survived by her husband Edward J. Sobol; her son, Perry S. Porch; four stepchildren Mark, Mathew, Sharon and Lisa; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. |
