John Leslie Moore

Born in Clovis, New Mexico on Feb. 25, 1930.
Departed on Aug. 8, 2005 and resided in Cottonwood, AZ.

John Leslie Moore (Chief), 75, of Cottonwood died August 8, 2005. He was born February 25, 1930 in Clovis, New Mexico.

He attended Western State College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.

At one time he worked as a substitute teacher and as a alcohol and detox rehabilitation counselor.

Mr. Moore was retired from a career in the Navy where he served in Korea and Vietnam and obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

He was a member of the Verde Valley Computer Club. He enjoyed web designing and loved to barbeque.

Chief Moore is survived by his wife of 35 years, Miyako "Mia" Moore; a son John L. Moore III of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Robert N. Moore of San Diego, Calif.; and one grandchild.

There are no public services planned.

He will be scattered at sea by the Navy.
