Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published on Novemner 18, 2015 - Lorena Sue Kirkwood, 59, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 in Tempe. She was born Nov. 23, 1955 in Flint, Mich. She is the daughter of the late Pat and Ted Mordue. Lori grew up in Flint, Mich. where she played the clarinet in her high school band. She moved with her parents to Lake Havasu City in 1973. She worked at Mundell’s Drive-In then at the McCulloch Corporation before starting her career as a rural carrier with the United States Postal Service in 1994. Lori enjoyed every moment she shared with her daughters, whether it was going to the movies, shopping or relaxing with them at home. She looked forward to watching reality shows with her friend Cyndi on Monday nights and drinking coffee in the mornings with her dog. She loved visiting her brothers and their families in Michigan during the summer to escape the Arizona heat. Everyone who knew her will miss her kind and generous spirit. Lori leaves behind her two daughters, Vanessa Kirkwood of Phoenix, and Shannon Kirkwood of Tempe; brothers, Richard (Randi) Mordue of Prudenville, Mich. and Randal (Lida) of Houghton Lake, Mich.; Aunt Barb and Uncle Dutch of Ontario, Canada; cousins, Julie and Sue; many nieces and nephews, coworkers, lifelong friends, classmates and her beloved dog, Buddy. A celebration of her life will be at the family’s home, 3000 Caravelle Dr., on Sunday, Nov. 22, 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Western Arizona Humane Society. |
