Hazel Elora Penrod Earl
April 14, 1916 - November 15, 2015

Hazel Elora Penrod Earl, daughter of Sarah Anne Butler and John Ralph Penrod, was born on April 14, 1916, along with her twin brother, Mazel Penrod, in Eagar, Arizona.

Hazel passed away on November 15, 2015 at the age of 99-1/2 years old at the home of her daughter, Beverly and Charlie Gann in St. Johns, Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Anne and John Ralph Penrod; her husband, Edgar Reed Earl; her daughter, D. Corrine Lewis; her sisters: Florence Penrod, Lila Rhoton, Isaphine Gardner, Rose Sevey, Fern Mettie-Willis, Jeannie Thomas and by her brother, John Butler "JB" Penrod.

Hazel is survived by her four children: Ervin R. "Sonny" (Kathy) Earl of Lakeside, Arizona (their children: Ervin, David and Donald), John R. (LaRue) Earl of Springerville and Pima, Arizona (their children: Debbie Hinton, Steven Davis, Alrenia Gola, Johnna Slade, Elora Luginbuhl, Crystal Reidhead and Dalton Earl), The children of Corrine Lewis, deceased and LeRoy Lewis: Cherrel Linne', Delvan, Sarah Corrine "Corrie" Killingsworth, Roger and Casey), Ronald "Ronny" (MaryAnne) Earl of Florence, Oregon (their children: Ronny Earl, Natalie Earl, Calvin Yocom, Kathleen Aranjo, John Hedlend and Mary Kay Hoffman), Beverly (Charlie) Gann of St. Johns, Arizona (their children: Justin, Colby, Cameron and Tess Earven); many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and is also survived by her twin brother, Mazel Penrod of Kingman, Arizona.

Hazel lived with her family in Pinon, Arizona until she was 9 years old. When they moved to Lakeside, after 2 years in high school, they moved to Pinetop. "The Twins" were the first, of their family, to graduate from high school in 1933.

Hazel Married Edgar Earl and her twin, Mazel, went to serve in WWII. Hazel and Edgar lived in McNary then in Mesa and moved to Mexico in 1943 to help build a railroad across Mexico. They returned to the states in 1950. Living in Lakeside and Show Low, then on to New Mexico. In 1962, they moved to Safford. Work then took them to Pennsylvania for a year, returning to Safford, at which time, Hazel lost her husband to cancer. She returned to her family in Lakeside, where she cared for her elderly parents until they passed away. Hazel was a loving mother and grandmother who loved life and loved sharing it with her family.

The visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., Friday, November 20, 2015 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1520 Church Lane in Lakeside, Arizona.

The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Lakeside Cemetery.
