ANEGAM VILLAGE - Ernest G. Andrew, 80, of Anegam died April 25, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson.

Rosary and wake will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Clare Catholic Mission. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. by the Rev. Ignatius DeGroot. Burial will be at 5 a.m. Friday in Anegam Cemetery.

Mr. Andrew was born July 1, 1928 in Anegam and was a son of Clement J. Andrew and Ellistina Rios. He was a farmer, growing cotton, and also worked at Silverbell Mine. He worked for the Sif Oidak District of the Tohono O'odham Nation as a driver and mechanic. He was a traditional singer in his community.

His hobbies were woodworking, word puzzles, playing cards ad watching "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price Is Right." He was a Diamondbacks fan. He frequently smiled, laughed and made jokes. He enjoyed sitting outside and being with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Roland C. Andrew of Tucson and Paul L. Andrew of Anegam; two daughters, Joan L. Andrew of Sells and Vincella R. Andrew of Anegam; a sister, Ernestine Juan of Anegam; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Delores, in 1996; a daughter, Delma Andrew Zambrano; a son, Clarence Andrew Sr.; a brother, Lorentine Andrew; a grandchild, Steven Andrew; and two great-grandchildren, Angel Lopez and Daniella Pablo.

J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel & Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
