George William Arrison, 92, of Casa Grande died April 22, 2009 at Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande.

The graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge. Pastors Terry Green and C.W. Cones will officiate. An honor and color guard will participate in the graveside service.

Mr. Arrison was born in Grangeville, Idaho, and was a son of D. William and M. Alice Arrison. He retired from the Navy after being enlisted from 1935 to 1957. He received the Korean Service Medal (one star), U.N. Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (four stars), National Defense Service Medal and China Service Medal (extended). He completed refrigeration and air-conditioning instructors school and power plant engineering training.

He served in Newport, R.I., on the USS Chicago, USS Tuscaloosa, USS Mayrant, USS Butler, USS Platte, USS Sierra, USS Gamar, USS Uhlmann, USS Kodiak and in Great Lakes, Ill.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mahala (Boughn) Arrison; a daughter, Charlotte Shoemaker of Willis, Texas; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Dippold.
