George Kovacovich

George Kovacovich, 95, of Camp Verde, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

He was born September 25, 1920 on the Middle Verde farm where he lived his entire life.

He was son of Nick and Manda (Balen) Kovacovich.

He attended the Camp Verde schools and was a graduate of Clarkdale High School in 1938.

A lifelong farmer, he was a 2014 Honoree in the Arizona Farming and Ranching Hall of Fame.

A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the Navy.

Mr. Kovacovich was also a charter member of the Camp Verde Cavalry.

His wife of 62 years, Peggy Kovacovich preceded him in death. Surviving are his son Robert Kovacovich of Camp Verde; two daughters, Sue Ann Mankin (Randy) of Scottsdale and Nancy Sanchez (David) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 29 in the Philip England Center For The Performing Arts, 210 Camp Lincoln Road, Camp Verde at 2 PM.
