Jeanette Makela, 93 of Cottonwood, passed away January 20, 2016.

She was born March 30, 1922 in Walsenburg, Colorado, the daughter of Charles and Eleanor McClintick.

She was a graduate of Lake Washington High School. She worked for the Lake Washington School District in Kirkland, Washington.

Mrs. Makela was the winner of various state fair ribbons for tole painting. She also wrote poetry. She enjoyed being with her family.

Her husband, Alfred Loren Makela, son Steven Makela, grandson Douglas Roy and 2 brothers all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Makela is survived by her daughter Susan (Donald) Mozzone of Cottonwood; a brother Russell McClintick of Bothell, Washington and a sister Betty Gaudy of Cottonwood; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

There are no public services planned. She will be placed with her husband and son in Acacia Memorial Park in Washington.
