Henry William "Bill" Huddleston, a native Prescottonian, rose to his Heavenly Father at 90 years of age on Jan. 28, 2016 in Gilbert, Arizona. Bill was born Aug. 30, 1925 to Henry and Jennie (Lackey) Huddleston.

Creative and ambitious all of his life, Bill began working at an early age as a paperboy. He attended Washington Grade School and Prescott Junior High, graduating from Prescott High School in 1943. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy in World War II on a ship in the South Pacific. Upon his return, he married his life-long sweetheart Sarah Brent of Texas choosing a 40-year career at the U.S. Post Office in Prescott. He retired as assistant postmaster electing to move to Sun Lakes, Arizona soon after.

Bill was very artistic and creative. He had a great talent for creating beautiful landscapes and mastered the art of masonry, building outstanding rock walls that stand today as a testament to his perfectionism. Bill was a very involved parent and proudly served in his community. He was a member of the Masonic Temple in Prescott and Shriners in Phoenix. When his children were growing up, he was heavily involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts, Prescott Minor League Baseball, Little League Baseball and Babe Ruth and Girls Softball. He also served on the boards associated with these sports. Bill loved camping, fishing and hunting cutting wood and his favorite hobby looking for Indian artifacts.

He was exceedingly proud of his family. He loved to show them off to all of his Sun Lakes friends when they visited him or sent pictures via Facebook. He loved to talk to his friends at all hours using his ipad or texting on iphone. Bill was very involved with his church and was dedicated to reading his bible. Bills quick wit and cheerful demeanor gained him numerous friends who respected and loved

him. Bill was determined and dedicated to anything he tried. He began jogging at age 47 and ran seven miles per day until age 77 when his doctors advised him to stop. After that, friends saw him walking long distances from home. Even at age 90, he continued to walk shorter distances. Bill loved a good cup of coffee and requested, "To have his last cup" during his final stay in the hospital.
