Father George Pirrung of Cottonwood, passed away February 3, 2016. He was born March 16, 1927 in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of Carl and Clara Pirrung.

He was ordained into the priesthood May 8, 1954. He served as pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish from June 1977 to July 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Joseph and his wife Catherine of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a brother Paul of Dayton, Ohio.

He is survived by a sister Frances Fleming (wife of the late Edward) of Norwalk, Ohio; sister Florence Lucius (wife of the late Bernard) of Tiffin, Ohio; brother James Pirrung and his wife Donna of Massilon, Ohio; and a sister-in-law Florence (wife of the late Paul Pirrung) of Dayton, Ohio; 27 nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 17 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
