Arizona Republican, Phoenix, AZ Saturday, May 9, 1925, p 6 Henry M. Davenport, pioneer of Arizona and prominent businessman of Phoenix, died at 9 o'clock last night at his home, 1301 W. Taylor street, following an attack of heart trouble, with which he had been a sufferer for many years. Mr Davenport was 55 years old, and had been a resident of Phoenix since he was nine years of age. For many years he was associated with his brother, W. R. Davenport, in conducting the business of the H. W. Ryder Lumber company on East Jefferson street, but was forced to retire about a year ago on account of his health. Mr. Davenport is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Davenport, his mother, Mrs. Martha A Davenport, two daughters, Miss Pauline Davenport, who is employed at the Arizona highway department, and Miss Marcia Davenport, two sisters, Mrs. F. L. Mussey and Mrs. William Morgan, both of Phoenix, and two brothers, W. R. Davenport and M. L. Davenport, also of Phoenix. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J. T. Davenport, who died at his home Friday night, will be conducted from the chapel of J. T .Whitney at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The burial ritual will be read by Dean Herbert L.
