Robert Lawrence Hunger

Robert Lawrence Hunger, 65, of Kingman (Butler) passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Newark, N.J., and came to Kingman 29 years ago from Las Vegas.

Robert attended college in New Jersey and Heidelberg, Germany, with a doctorate in biochemistry. Bob was always studying; it was his hobby.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 14, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Eagles No. 3744. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps Field Maintenance National Security.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jeanette Marie Hunger of Kingman; his mother-in-law, Virginia Ruther Tacquard; five stepdaughters, Ruth Marie May Bisquise of Las Vegas, Deborah Ann Selutter of Troy, N.Y., Cynthia Louise (Jayson) Hatcher of Strawberry, Ariz., Mariam Jane (Thomas) Mickham of Idaho and Susann Irene (John) Becker of Kingman. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, at the American Legion Post 14, 225 Oak St., downtown Kingman. A potluck will follow. Burial will be in the Florida Gulf on Nov. 15, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that friends plant a rose bush or a flowering plant in his memory.
