RILEY, Rita Ann

Rita Ann Riley left us to be with the Lord on April 25, 2009 in Fountain Hills, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Rita was born Nov. 4, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, where she lived most of her life. In 2005, she moved to Fountains Hills to be close to her daughter, Anne.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and St. Louis University. She returned to school later in life to become a registered nurse and worked at St. Louis County Hospital.

Rita had many interests, loved animals, and read widely her entire life. Those who knew her appreciated Rita’s intelligent conversation. Her steadfast love and support for her family will be cherished forever.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Riley, and her brother, Donn Riley. Rita will be dearly missed by her children and their families; John and Anne Fisher, Michael and Allison Morgenthaler, Albert and Danielle Morgenthaler, Lucy Morgan, and Emilie Morgenthaler; grandchildren, Patrick and Kate Fisher, Marie, Lindy, Ann and Michael Morgenthaler. Rita is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Riley, of Rosemount, Pa. and her cousin, Michael Walsh of Ireland.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, April 30, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church located at 10755 N. 124th Street, Scottsdale.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in the memory of Rita Ann Riley.
