Chester Vern Swanson, 86, of Camp Verde died August 23. He was born October 23, 1916 in Minnesota.

He retired as an engineer from Pacific Bell. Mr. Swanson was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid golfer.

He leaves his wife of 58 years, Celia D. Swanson; two daughters, Claudia Lynn Clark of Alta Loma, Calif. and Terry Anne Swanson of LaCrescenta, Calif.; a son, David Earl Swanson of Norco, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Steven J. Bednarczyk, Brandon Bednarczyk, Matthew, Ryan and Hailey Clark, Jenny Clark-Reed, Kyle, Shaina and Zachary Swanson; three great-grandchildren Joshua, Christian and Gracen Reed.

There are no public services planned.

Westcott Funeral Home assisted the family with these arrangements.
