LeRoy Conrad Jacobson died during the quiet early morning hours of Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low.

He most recently celebrated his 64th birthday. He was born April 1, 1945, in Kathryn, N.D. to the late Conrad and Rosella (Swenson) Jacobson.

As a young man, LeRoy spent six years in the National Guard in Valley City, N.D. He worked as a professional truck driver for more than 40 years and also worked as a logger in the lumber industry. LeRoy worked for V-Mountain Construction as a truck driver and was able to continue in his work with them up until this past Easter. He was a very dependable employee and was well-liked by all his peers. His absence will truly be felt by all of his co-workers.

LeRoy loved being in the great out-of-doors. He was an avid Nascar Racing enthusiast. He also enjoyed watching baseball and enjoyed the stillness of a serene lake, as long as he had his fishing pole with him.

LeRoy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Beverly Jane (Pabst) Jacobson of Linden; three children, Jody (Tammy) Jacobson of Valley City, N.D., James (Susan) Jacobson of Phoenix, Janie (Don) Gore of Forsyth, Ga.; two grandchildren, Cody Vanstone, 19, of Show Low, Chantelle Vanstone, 16, of Forsyth, Ga.; two brothers, Larry Jacobson of Kathryn, N.D., Ronald (Karen) Jacobson of Mandan, N.D. and sister Connie (Dale) Jensen also of North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by sister Donna and brother Terry Jacobson.

The goodness this man exuded will be missed by many friends, however, none will miss him more than those who called him, "husband", "father", "grandfather" and "brother".

Funeral services will begin 6 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low where visitation will begin one-hour prior.
