The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, April 26, 2016, page 5a Ray G. Roy was 79 years young when he passed away on March 18, 2016. Ray was born on May 6, 1936 in Morgantown, West Virginia to James Paxton and Mabel C. Roy. Ray served in the U.S.M.C. for four years during the Korean War and worked for the Chrysler Corp. in Detroit, Michigan where he retired after 17 years. Ray lived in Chino Valley, Arizona, where he operated and managed Papa Bears restaurant and trailer park. Ray also worked along side his brother in-law Willy T. Parker at Parker Machine. Ray worked at the Dinner Bell and also at Shuttle U in Prescott where he kept the vans in tip top shape. He was a valued employee and treasured friend. Ray is survived by his wife of 33 years Ellen Roy; brother James Paxton Roy; sister Janet L. Parker; and his six children, James Roy, Danny Roy, Scott Roy, Bobby Roy, Michelle Fairchild and Robbin Taylor. Ray is proceeded in death by his parents James Paxton and Mabel C. Roy. Ray was a gentle man and always had a willingness to help others. He was known best for his personality and for being quite the jokester. He will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Information provided by survivors. |
