Ross Robert Ferrin

Ross Robert Ferrin, lately of Wickenburg, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2016, in Glendale.

He was born to Robert Wilford Ferrin and Maude Crockett Ferrin on Jan. 23, 1930, in Fort Thomas, Ariz. He spent most of his early years in the Pima and Safford area. At the age of 14, Ross moved to Lincoln, Calif., to learn to train race horses. He continued to train horses for many years. While in Lincoln he met Helen Hotle and they were married on Dec. 15, 1965. Ross and Helen lived in California, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. Ross served in the Navy during the Korean War. He also owned a boat prop repair shop and was a carpenter by trade. Later on in his life he loved to play golf, gin rummy and dominos.

Ross is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Ferrin; his daughters Eleny Briggs and Peggy (Avrom) Tobias; grandchildren Keely Culver, Gavin Beaudry, Owen Briggs, Esme Tobias and Sadie Tobias; great-grandchildren Ian Beaudry, Jeremiah Culver and Helena Culver; and brother Grant Ferrin.

He was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth Ferrin, Jerry Ferrin and John Ferrin; sisters Peggy Wardley and Connie Ferrin. He will be sadly missed by his family. A family memorial is planned.
