Jaylee Sampsel, 68, of Cottonwood, Arizona died on Monday, April 28th, 2003. He was born in Ohio, on March 30, 1935.

Mr. Sampsel worked as an electrician for the Bassett Unified School District in California. He also volunteered his time and helped raise money for the Billy Barton Foundation to benefit the little people in the school district. He served as a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital. He was a twenty year member of the Elk's lodge and he worked to raise money in thier yearly fund raiser that helped send handicapped children to summer camp in Yosemite National Park. After moving to Cottonwood, he served as a volunteer at the Verde Valley Medical Center and he also joined the Jerome Lodge of Elks.

He is survived by his wife of 45 Years Oweda Sampsel ; his children: Lisa Lee Gray of Cottonwood, Ariz. and Steven Sampsel of Calif.; a sister: Jane Bowers of Tucson, Ariz. and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Jerome Lodge of Elks #1361 in Clarkdale.
