Elsie Ruth Carlson, 84, of Cottonwood died May 19. She was born August 17, 1918 in Birchtree, Missouri.

Mrs. Carlson was born in Birchtree, Missouri and was raised one out of nine children and graduated high school there in 1936. She was a Harvey Girl, came out from Kansas City, Missouri in 1939 to Ashfork, Ariz. She met future husband, Don E. Carlson there and they were married in Kingman, Ariz., December 9, 1939. They leased Casey's Corner in Cornville, Ariz. from 1962-1963. She worked in Prescott at the Hassayampa Hotel and the Green Frog Restaurant. She also loved to fish and hunt.

She leaves a daughter, Beda Joyce Carlson of Cottonwood; a son, Donald Dennis Carlson, wife Nellie Katherine Carlson, Elko, Nev.; two sisters, Edna M. Crowe and Esther F. Roth, both of Independence, Mo.; two grandchildren, Tracey Betancourt, Elko, Nev. and Beau Carlson, Clearfield, Ut. and seven great-grandchildren.

Private family services were held in the Cottonwood Cemetery.

Westcott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
