Born in Warwick, Rhode Island on June 19, 1928.
Departed on Sept. 30, 2006 and resided in Camp Verde, Arizona.

Henry C. Johnson III, 78 of Camp Verde died September 30. He was born June 19, 1928 in Warwick, Rhode Island, the son of Henry C. Johnson, Jr and Alice V. Walker.

He was a graduate of North Kingston High School. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War, serving with the 27th Infantry and the 430th Engineer Construction Battalion, Tropical Lighting. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and several other citations.

He was an accomplished horseman, hunter and an award winning chicken breeder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Wood.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 55 years Gloria B. Johnson; two sons Henry C. Johnson IV, wife Mikki, Camp Verde and Roger D. Johnson of Rimrock; two daughters, Jennifer A. Clark, husband Michael, of Kingman and Jill Audrey Stephens, husband Chad, of Bellingham, Wash.; two brothers, David D. Johnson, wife Elaine and Russell Johnson, wife Shirley and a sister Bernice Pucella all of North Kingston, R.I. and a nephew James Johnson, wife Lisa and two children Russell Henry and Jeffrey James, all of Camp Verde.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 5 in the Valley View Cemetery at 10 a.m.
