David Ray Kinney
May 29, 1943 - June 15, 2016

David Ray Kinney found eternal peace on June 15, 2016. He was born in Peoria, Illinois on May 29, 1943, one of 10 children of Pearline Hull Kinney and Earl Edward Kinney.

He left Illinois a young man and went to California. Schooled in the Grocery Industry he began his career which lasted 36 years. He and his wife Penny found each other in May of 1975. they married in August of 1975 and were together for over 42 years. Upon their retirement they relocated to Show Low, Arizona to enjoy the small town atmosphere, tall trees and his love of fishing and golf.

Through the many years he formed close and important friendships with his golf and fishing buddies. When he was diagnosed with AML in January of 2015 he fought the battle and won and was in remission for over a year. After regaining his strength he so enjoyed all the fishing expeditions with his buddies and loved telling all the tales of their adventures.

He is survived by his wife, Penny, his daughters, Kristine, Tracy and Jennifer, 5 grandchildren and 8 siblings. "He will always fill my heart." In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Summit Health Care Regional Medical Center Cancer Center.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Owens Livingston Mortuary-White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St. in Show Low, Arizona, where a public viewing will begin at 10:30 am that same morning.
