| Camp Verde Bugle, Cottonwood, Arizona Saturday, July 23, 2016 William "Bill" Milks, 87, of Clarkdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 19th, after a lengthy illness, while in the loving care of Northern Arizona Hospice. Born March 14, 1929, in Niagara Falls, NY, he attended local schools and served in WWII. In October 1951, he married Frances "Fran" Watson, also of Niagara Falls and together they had four children, lived in Niagara Falls and Lewiston and then retired to Arizona. He was predeceased by Fran and two sons, Robert and William, Jr. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at DuPont for 32 years. Upon retiring in 1985, he lived in Phoenix and Sedona, then most recently in Clarkdale. He was avid collector of antiques, had a colorful sense of humor and many knew him as "Trader Bill". He enjoyed traveling and often combined his two passions, traveling and collecting antiques during local and cross country trips. In addition to his hobbies, he enjoyed meeting people, being active in the community and volunteered with Verde Valley Caregivers, providing company and transportation to medical appointments for others in need. Although, driving with our Dad always meant stopping at any yard sale or flea market you happened to find. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ferchen of Lewiston and son Jamie of Niagara Falls, as well as his grandchildren Michele and Sean Hausauer, Cindi Ferchen, Bob Milks, Patrick Milks and great grandchildren Ellie and Olivia Hausauer. The family would like to extend the sincerest gratitude to the friends and family who helped in his care and to the staff and volunteers of the Valley View Hospice in Cottonwood, AZ for providing exceptional care, nurturing and support to our Dad and to us. There will be private memorial service held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to The Verde Valley Caregivers, http://www.vvcaregivers.org/make-a-donation.html or The Northern Arizona Hospice, https://nahealth.com/charity-programs/donate-verde-valley-medical-center or the charity of your choice.
