Allan Francis Greenwade, 80, of Cave Creek, Ariz. (formerly of Prescott, Ariz.), went home to the Lord and to join his beloved wife Annie on Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born on Feb. 24, 1929, to George and Edna Greenwade.

He will be remembered as an amazing man of character, integrity and devotion to God and family. He retired as a Division Chief in l982 from the Phoenix Fire Dept. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Allan's many talents and interests included building homes, flying, art, reading, the great outdoors and being involved in church ministries and activities. He was always ready to reach out and help those in need. He had an endless quest for knowledge and he always had a book in his hand.

He was preceded in death by Anne Marie, his wife of 54 years. He is survived by his children, Jim (Donna), Peggy (Eric), Kathy (Kurt), Robert (Jan), Jeanne (Mitch), Sue (Joe); 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Allan will be greatly missed by all his family and friends who loved him dearly.

A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1954 N. 24th Street, Phoenix. Visitation is at 10 a.m.; funeral service is at 11 a.m.
