Robert R. Curry of Prescott passed away July 29, 2016, in Prescott. He was born September 4, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois, to R. Russell and Elma J. (Gnehm) Curry. He graduated from Southern Illinois University summa cum laude majoring in Political Science.

In 1978 he met the love of his life, Susan, in Illinois and they moved to Prescott in 1980. Together they owned the restaurant and music venue NOLAZ for many years. Curry, as he liked to be called, was active in both the food and music of Prescott, showcasing national talent at his bar and in the community. His culinary skills were second to none and are still often praised by those who had the opportunity to enjoy his efforts.

Curry was active in the VFW

Post 541 as an auxiliary member serving for a time as the auxiliary secretary. He was really proud of his participation in the organization and provided him with the occasional opportunity to demonstrate his culinary skills.

Curry is survived by his wife, Susan White of Prescott; and brother William D. Curry of Washington, Illinois.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home 240 S. Cortez St. Prescott, Arizona.
