Sherry L. Ziegler
April 23, 1948 - August 3, 2016

Sherry Laneen Ziegler, 68 of Wickenburg, Arizona passed away on August 3, 2016, surrounded by her family. Sherry was born April, 23, 1948 to Leonard and Donna Ediger who preceded her in death along with her brother Gary Ediger. Sherry was the oldest of three children.

Sherry is survived by her husband, John, her children: Kris Ziegler (Terry ) Cheyenne, WY, Kim Schoen (Debbie ) of Brighton, CO, Erik Little, of Albuquerque, NM and Melanie Stoltz( Hunter ) of Chandler, AZ and sister Terri Hill ( Larry) , of Loveland ,CO and seven grandchildren.

Sherry was born in McPherson, Kansas, where she lived for the first 12 years of her life. Her family then moved to Longmont, CO, where she graduated from Longmont High School. Upon graduation, Sherry went to work for a small startup company called Autotron Products. Within two years, Sherry became the bookkeeper and then later the Manager of Accounting.

By 1980, Sherry started her own company called Vagabond Travel. During these early years, Sherry had an avid interest in learning. She took cooking classes, which lead to becoming a gourmet cook. Sherry loved airplanes; which lead to getting her private flying license. She joined Fox Hill Country Club and started a lifelong love of golf.

In 1984, Sherry married the love of her life, John Ziegler, owner and operator of Autotron Products. She rejoined the company and managed his Purchasing Division, until she retired at the end of 1985. In 1986, John and Sherry sold Autoron Products and bought a ranch in Montrose, CO. This was the beginning of Sherry’s love for horses. She enjoyed riding, jumping and dressage; which lead to numerous competitions along the western slope, with her two favorite horses, Bunker and Moon. In 1990, John and Sherry sold their ranch and moved back to Longmont, CO, where she rejoined Fox Hill and continued her love for golf.

In 1994, John and Sherry, following their passion for travel, ended up in Scottsdale, Arizona, where they built a home on Scottsdale Mountain.

They Joined Red Mountain Country Club and for a short time, Sherry sold real estate for Realty Executives. In 1995, John and Sherry bought a boat in the British Virgin Islands and spent many weeks sailing in the Caribbean; usually with family and friends. When they weren't sailing, you'd find them snow skiing in their second home in Vail Valley, CO, where they also spent time in the summer.

In 1998, Sherry and John moved to Wickenburg, AZ, where Sherry could pursue both her passion for golf and horses. While living in Wickenburg, Sherry was an active member of Las Damas, a member of La Senoras and served in many capacities, including a Board Member of the Los Caballeros Golf Club. Sherry also attended church at The Place.

While living in Wickenburg, Sherry was able to pursue her most prominent pleasure, which was cooking and entertaining. Often times you could find Sherry pouring over one of her 100 cookbooks, which she used for researching and new recipes. Hosting dinner parties in her home was one of her biggest joys. Sherry's grace and smile will be missed by all.

A Celebration of Life for Sherry will be held in the fall.
