Michael Steven Millican

Michael Steven Millican, son of Robert R. and Lois V. Millican, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at his home in San Antonio, Texas.

Born Dec. 13, 1949, in Pueblo, Colo., Michael grew up in the Denver area, graduating from University of Denver.

He moved to San Diego, Calif., for law school, and there he met his future wife Sharon Marie Matthew. Mike and Sharon returned to Denver where they worked at the family-owned Silver Shop. Their children, Beth and James, were born in Colorado.

Michael and his family moved to the Prescott area in 1981 to live and work on the family ranch. Mike served as the manager for the Yolo Ranch and Kirkland Valley Morgan Ranch until 1995 when he and his family moved to the city of Prescott.

In 2007, Michael and Sharon moved to San Antonio, where Sharon serves as Deputy Nurse Executive for the South Texas Veterans Health Care System.

Michael is survived by his wife Sharon; children Beth and James; mother Lois Millican; grandmother Marylou Keithley; sister Susan Horst; brother-in-law Keith Horst; nephew Alex Horst; sister Linda Millican; niece Amy Worff; mother-in-law Hedy Matthew; brother-in-law Richard Matthew; nephew Addison Matthew; and niece Tristem Laux.

A wonderful man and beloved husband, exceptional father, son and brother, Michael will be missed by all for his terrific sense of humor, gentle nature, warmth and generous loving spirit.

We know our lives are better that Michael was a part of them and we will forever be grateful for his help, humor, wisdom and guidance.

We will miss him until it is our time to follow him.

Memorial services will take place at a future date yet to be announced.
